PIGEONS ATTACK LAS VEGAS
LAS VEGAS: In an apparent fightback against the recent successful operation against the pigeons of Piazza San Marco in Venice, Italy, a massive flock of pigeons flew into the Venetian, one of the top hotels on the Strip.
Witnesses related how the pigeons, estimated to number in the thousands, swooped in through a doorway left open by a security guard suspected to be in limbo and flew through the hotel's themed shopping and eating arcade that is a recreation of the canals and major sites of Venice. Amid scenes of panic amongst the hotel's patrons, the birds gathered in the main square, Piazza San Marco, where they caused havoc by divebombing guests eating at the square's restaurants. Three tourists from Texas were driven into the Grand Canal, where they were rescued by a gondola driver, and a young girl was taken to hospital after breaking her arm trying to escape attack.
"It was total chaos," said a holidaymaker from Pasadena who asked to remain anonymous. "I didn't believe all this Pigeon Conspiracy stuff up till now, but after this... I see where they're coming from."
