PIGEON RESISTANCE PLANS TO GO MOBILE
LONDON: To better keep in touch with its members while they're on the move, the Pigeon Resistance is planning a wireless communication solution using the latest mobile phone technologies. MobileResistance, as the initiative will be known, will see the development of text message-based news updates, a WAP site, a 24-hour helpline, and a system whereby users with camera phones can directly transmit photographs of potential pigeon-related troublespots to Pigeon Resistance headquarters.
The Pigeon Resistance has procured the services of electronic enablement solutions house rocket-mind (www.rocket-mind.com) to design and implement the programme. rocket-mind's team has been commissioned on a fast-track to complete the project as soon as possible.
"We totally recognise the importance of mobile phones these days," explained Pigeon Resistance President Angus Jones. "Our members are on the move all the time, and when you're on the move, you're vulnerable. The pigeons are everywhere. Hopefully this system will reduce those risks and give people a better chance of fighting to see another day."
