VICTORY IN VENICE

VENICE: More than 15,000 pigeons have been safely exterminated by the Resistenza Italiana dei Piccioni in Venice in a highly successful operation.

Pigeon Resistance President Angus Jones released a statement saying, "Early this morning, our comrades the RIP took action against the pigeons of Venice by, in a humane manner, taking steps to start eliminating the pigeon pest problem that has long faced Piazza San Marco. We commend the RIP for its positive and proactive approach towards finding a solution for the Pigeon Conspiracy."

The city authorities of Venice have for years refused to confront the massive threat posed by the thousands of pigeons that inhabit Piazza San Marco. The Resistenza Italiana dei Piccioni became increasingly concerned about these birds after a spate of attacks on tourists was reported and more than twenty people were suspected to have been set upon by the pigeons in an attempt by the hive mind to bring them under its control.

This operation, conducted completely within the bounds of Italian law, is intended to be the first of many attempts in several countries, including the United Kingdom, to bring the pigeon problem under control.
