It is essential to make sure that you have a safe place in your city that you are confident is immune to the nefarious intentions of the pigeons. It makes sense for that place to be your home. Try the following techniques for protecting your home:
- String up a dead pigeon from the eaves to deter others
- Erect anti-pigeon spikes on any surfaces attractive to the birds
- Block off aerial approach paths with netting
- Use chemical agents to deter or eradicate the birds (e.g. CQX45)
Furthermore, be sure not to open your door to strangers who might be agents of the birds. Establish a coded knock system with friends who visit regularly.
